Disbelief is the default position, no one is born having a belief. Beliefs are
acquired through culture and education, we all know that. It is not
ultimately up to the atheist to justify atheism; rather it is up to the
theist to explain why belief in a God is reasonable. In the absence
of such explanation, theism should be regarded as irrelevant at
best but likely irrational.
Back to my original question, groups made up of rationalists and etc.
Pygmy tribes found in Africa have no identifiable cults or rites. There
were no totems, no gods, no spirits.
Tribes in Cameroon only believed in a malicious gods and so made no efforts
to placate or please them. LOL
One tribe answer about God "is he on a rock? On a white-ant hill? On a tree?
I never saw a God!
North America. Some North American indian tribes believed in a god, but did
not actively worship it, their philosophy, "Our grandfathers and our great-
grandfathers were won't to contemplate the earth alone, solicitous only
to see whether the plain afford grass and water for their horses. They
never troubled themselves about what went on in the heavens, and who
was the creator and governor of the stars.
What a fine way to live.
so i have gotten into arguements with my wife in the past about this cult.
now a days after reading steve hassan books...i just try and avoid anything jdub with her.
try to keep her in authentic mode..(not sure she really has one).
So does it mean we need works to help our faith or that our faith
is incomplete without works.
Acts, Romans and Mark states just believe and you will be saved.
JW's only see by knocking on doors they will be saved or standing
at their stands looking weird..
As others have mention, your faith should move you to do good for
others. It doesn't mean waking people up on a Sat. morning.
Their faith is based solely on door knocking, forget the hungry, needed and
as Morpheus and other mention the orphans and widows..
how in the hell can a girl basketball team score that many points??.
in san bernardino arroyo valley high, coach m. anderson was suspended 2 games for running up the score.. anderson said his team had won four previous games by at least 70 points and the team they beat had already lost a game by 91 points.. this remind me of the college calif inst of tech.
a few years ago they won their first basketball game and was front page in the sport section.. some of the brilliant minds in the world attend caltec, basketball is not first on their list.
cofty: I agree "If the team is so much better". Maybe the team needs to be
in a different conference or stopped the game at half time, no contest..
why are so many jehovah's witnesses unaware of their own beliefs.
.
i would imagine the repetitive meetings, studies and door to door knocking would firmly root them in their beliefs.. yet, i've observed they either back out of challenging questions at times, or share a link to jay w org.. .
If a written test was required to become a Elder and a passing
score of 90%, how many would pass?
Ask a elder about overlapping generation, blood, end times.
In fact just ask them about some of the basic teaching in the Bible.
The test must be given in a room without any WT publication, no
tablet (whatever they use in service today).
I'am sure all will get Matt. 24;14 right, but 50% will fail the test...
I was so surprised when a Elder told me, the promise land was about
2000 miles from Egypt...

Anderson stated, I soon realized this game was over so I put the
bench players in. Maybe that's how the team got two points.

so i was just informed by my wife that her grandmother (who's also out) has been told by a 'sister' from her old hall that during their most recent circuit visit the co said something along the lines of:.
isn't it faith strengthening that the number of anointed is falling in relation to the increase in publishers?
!.
The only reason my sister perceived heaven, her husband was a abusive jerk. I guess she figured I would rather fly around in heaven then live here on earth with this man. After he slapped her around a few times, she said you know what I have the heavenly hope and when I get there the sh---t will hit the fan...
My poor sister, delusive hope.....

What a joke, the 144000. What the hell will they be doing in heaven?
My sister stared partaking around 1969. I loved my sister but to rule in heaven with God, please. We were new in the borg (the wife and I), we would have family study with her family and my family. Doing the study I notice my sister had problems understanding the articles.
That bothered me, in fact that's when I started questing the borg.
How is it she will rule in heaven when she don't understand the basic teaching of the WT.
She passed a few years back . She told my my brother-in law,(no one knows) don't have me at her funeral, that organization ruin my sister...
The funny part about this, my brother-in-law married her ( my sister) best friend.
Within a year they were married, some hanky panky was going on.
I would hate to be in my brother-law shoes when my sister begin ruling in heaven. LOL
oh really.
the boy was six year old when he said he was in heaven with the angels.
now he admit it was made up for attention..
Sorry for the mix up..Tyndale House a major Christian publisher, has
announced that it will stop selling "the Boy who came back from
Heaven. By Alex Malarkey and his father K. Malarkey.
